Frequently Asked Questions
How do you calculate e-commerce profit?
To find your true e-commerce profit, subtract your Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), shipping fees, advertising spend (CAC), and all platform/payment processing fees from your final selling price.
What is CAC in e-commerce?
CAC stands for Customer Acquisition Cost. It is the amount of money you spend on marketing and advertising to acquire a single paying customer. If you spend $100 on Facebook ads and get 5 sales, your CAC is $20 per item.
Does this calculator work for Shopify, Amazon FBA, or Etsy?
Yes! It is platform agnostic. Simply enter the specific platform fee (e.g., Etsy's 6.5% transaction fee or Amazon's referral fee) in the Platform Fee percentage box to get an accurate net profit.
